About Pigmentation Treatment

Hyperpigmentation happens when certain areas of the skin become darker than the surrounding skin, often appearing as brown spots or small patches of freckles that create an uneven tone. This darkening is caused by an overproduction of melanin—the pigment responsible for the color of your skin and hair. The most common triggers for excess pigmentation include inflammation, hormonal changes, and sun exposure. These factors activate a process called melanogenesis, where the skin produces more melanin as a form of protection. Since most of us enjoy time outdoors or are regularly exposed to sunlight, UV rays are the leading cause of dark spots and uneven pigmentation.

How it Works

With the latest advancements in technology, achieving clearer, more even-toned skin is now more possible than ever. At Envision Laser Studio, we proudly use the cutting-edge Cynosure Elite iQ laser to safely and effectively target unwanted pigmentation.
Our Laser Pigmentation Removal treatment is designed to reduce the appearance of freckles, sun spots, acne scars, age spots, and other forms of hyperpigmentation. The laser delivers precise energy to the pigmented areas, breaking down the pigment-producing cells. Your body then naturally eliminates the damaged tissue and replaces it with fresh, healthy skin—revealing a smoother, more radiant complexion.
Before beginning treatment, a consultation with one of our certified Cynosure technicians is required. During this session, we’ll assess the affected area, review your medical history, and determine if you’re a good candidate for the procedure. We’ll also walk you through what to expect and how many sessions may be needed based on your skin type and pigmentation concerns.
Keep in mind that multiple treatments are typically necessary to achieve optimal results. Older or deeper pigmentation may require more sessions, while newer spots may respond more quickly.

Post-Treatment Care

For best results, 2 to 4 treatment sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart may be needed.
After your treatment, it’s important to keep the skin hydrated—apply an aloe-based gel or similar soothing moisturizer to calm and nourish the area. Avoid sun exposure during the course of your treatments, and always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) if the treated area is exposed to sunlight.
Mild redness or swelling around the treated area is normal and typically subsides within a few hours. It’s also common for the pigmented spots to darken initially, then gradually dry out and shed over the following days or weeks.
As the skin heals, treated lesions may form a crust before sloughing off naturally. It’s important not to scratch, rub, or pick at these areas to avoid irritation or scarring.
Please be sure to follow the Pre/Post Treatment Protocols provided and reviewed with you before your session.
